We made this open sterling silver ring from the handpiece of a teaspoon and adorned it with an oval sugilite (in cabochon shape) from South Africa.
The beautiful floral rose design in Art Nouveau style dates from 1903 and was named "Tea Rose". It was created by the silver manufacturer "The Watson Company". The company "Watson Co" was founded in 1874 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, USA.
Tea roses came to Sweden from Canton in China as early as 1752, then to England in 1759 and from there to Central Europe. In China, they were often planted in tea plantations. Hence the name tea rose.
The purple sugilite is from Hozatel in South Africa and one of the rarest stones there is.
Meaning and properties of sugilite: Strengthens self-control. Promotes strength, and will. Helps one free oneself from dependence, addiction, and anxiety. Helps ease pain and nervous disorders. Strengthens the energy flow and the immune system.
